Assistant or Associate Professor of Systematic Theology

Description

The Boston College announces a full-time tenure-track faculty opening in Systematic Theology at the rank of assistant or associate professor. Preferred specializations include sacramental theology and liturgical theology. Doctoral training in Sacramental Theology and/or Liturgical Theology is required. Responsibilities include teaching two courses each semester: undergraduate core courses in Christian theology, as well as more specialized undergraduate and graduate courses. Applicants should have a record of scholarship in their field and a commitment to excellence in teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.

This position is an appointment within the Theology Department and the successful candidate will participate fully in the academic life of the Department. The faculty member will teach two courses each semester (which by agreement with the Department Chair may include Theology Core courses, graduate seminars, or undergraduate electives) and advise graduate and undergraduate students. The tenure and promotion process will proceed through the Theology Department.

Qualifications

Completion of PhD required by August 31, 2025.
