A new symbol of academic excellence and leadership
Messina College, Boston College鈥檚 two-year residential college division, has officially joined the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, a milestone that also marks the establishment of the Beta Omega Rho chapter, which will serve as a new symbol of academic excellence and leadership at the college.

Founded in 1918 and recognized as the official honor society of two-year colleges by the American Association of Community Colleges in 1929, Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) honors students鈥� academic achievements at two-year colleges while offering opportunities for personal, professional, social, and academic growth. As the world鈥檚 largest honor society for two-year colleges, PTK has chapters at 1,300 colleges in 11 countries and a student success rate of 92 percent.
The Beta Omega Rho chapter was established to promote academic excellence, foster a greater sense of community, and encourage leadership development among its members. Over the course of the coming weeks, PTK staff will work with chapter advisors at Messina College to guide them through advisor certification processes and develop a plan for the upcoming year.
