When Deana Brudney, a fifth grade social studies teacher at St. Mary Parish School in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, shared the story of Crowther's heroism with her class, the students began a letter-writing project to express their feelings to his parents, Allison and Jefferson Crowther.
